It is a lot of work caring for your full, unrelaxed kinky hair. And honestly, the hair type does not make this challenge any easier than we hope it to be.

The pride of the ‘virgin’ kinky hair is the different ways we style and carry it. If you don’t have a salonist, this can definitely pose a lot of discomfort for you.

It is at this point that a lot of women and men ask around for the healthiest chemical relaxer to use in order to make it easier for themselves.

But don’t worry. You will learn just what you need to overcome this hurdle.

The typical African kinky hair shrinks when air and water touches it. If you wear an afro today, chances are that you can’t rock it perfectly the next day because our hair texture does not always agree with environmental factors.

Whether you want to wear a bun, a piggy, an afro, curly coils, twist out, etc., you need a simple trick to change your hairstyles every next day.

What can you do? What is the one trick that does it all?

Braid your hair overnight.

By braiding, three things are meant:

One is to employ a lose twist before bed.
Second is a lose braid.
Or simply, tie your hair with a thread or a wool.

The three perform a function for your hair. Stretch!

When the hair shrinks, it hurts to stretch it back. Of course there are alternatives to stretching your hair, which is to use a stretcher/hot iron.

But...I definitely wouldn't advise you to do that all the time. Your hair stands a chance to break excessively and stop retaining growth as a result of the hot temperature and the dryness that accompanies it.

How to go about it?

Partition your hair in four or five parts depending on the length.

Braid or twist or tie loosely.

Loosen the next day.

Comb out your hair or detangle with your fingers,

And restyle.

And you are good to go!
