The Federal Palace Hotel complex in Lagos, Nigeria, hosted the Lagos Fashion Week, the three-day event founded in 2011 – originally as Lagos Fashion and Design Week – by Omoyemi Akerele, CEO of Style House Files Fashion Business Development Agency and organized in collaboration with Heineken Nigeria, FETS Wallet, Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), Garment Care and Style House Files (SHF).
designers took the runway at one of the leading fashion events in Africa; many of them are alumni of the projects in support of talents held within the same fashion week or of Style House Files. The Nigerian fashion week allowed the designers to express their creativity to the fullest, as explained by guests who were in attendance: “This is my best experience at Lagos Fashion Week. Not only because it was a presentation, but I also had the liberty to experience my show as I imagined. I believe we should explore developing more presentations that are adoptive of this style.”
